How to Clean a Propane Gas Grill

A propane gas grill is a type of household appliance used in cooking or grilling food from below. Once you have used it several times, the grill will become dirty. It is a mess for everybody, especially if you plan to grill food and you have not cleaned it in a while. Some books say that if you have left your grills dirty, it will affect not just the taste but also the appearance of the food. For this, it is important that you clean this device often to maintain grill quality. Cleaning is simple and easy. But, it also requires preparation and some much needed supplies.

1. Check the tank to ensure that the valve is turned off.

2. From your user manual, you have to follow the safety instructions in disconnecting the tank from its grill. You need to disconnect the unit’s burner and remove the tubes. Set the tank aside.

3. If there are any connections, then remove them according to the manual. Set aside.

4. Using an aluminum foil, cover the gas fixtures so water will not enter inside and cause corrosion.

5. Fill a gallon of warm water mixed with dish soap.

6. Dip the metal brush into the soapy water and scrub the inside and outside of the propane grill. Dip the brush into the soapy water again if needed. If you are finished scrubbing, wipe the grill off using a towel to dry.

7. Reconnect the tank. Follow the user instruction manual to maintain a proper connection. If you want to make sure that there is no leak in your connection, turn on the tank; then pour soapy water on the connection. If it does not create bubbles, then you have a secured connection. If it does create bubbles, you have to tighten the connections and test it again.

8. Put back briquettes into the propane gas grill. Light it up and close its lid. Leave it for about 15 minutes.

9. The grids should be cleaned with a metal scrub brush and soapy water. After brushing, wipe the grid with a clean cloth or towel. Leave it to dry.

10. Put the grids back after drying.

You do not have to make things complicated. Once you know how to clean and maintain your propane gas grill, you can ensure clean and delicious grilling every time, all the time. Remember that cleaning and maintaining your grill makes it more effective and longer-lasting.
